TeachingHorse
We provide a variety of equine guided education opportunities including leadership
development courses, one-on-one personal development coaching, individual or
group retreats, and riding lessons.
June Gunter Ed.D.
TeachingHorse partner and lead facilitator.
Dr. Gunter has 20 years experience working
as an educator and leadership development consultant. Her
goal is to bring horses and people together to discover more
effective ways of leading and creating healthy communities.
June holds a Doctor of Education degree in
the field of Adult Learning from North Carolina State University.
June attributes many of the lessons she learned about being
a teacher and a leader to the horses she has loved from childhood
through today. She is a Strozzi Ranch Certified Equine Guided
Educator.
June is one of the co-founders of EGEA (Equine
Guided Education Association). She is a professional educator
committed to embodying the highest standards of adult learning.
One of her lifelong goals is to contribute to the field of
education by developing innovative ways to engage adults
in continuous learning. June is committed to creating a community
of practitioners who honor the horse as a guide and embody
a unified set of educational standards for working with human
and equine participants.
Beth Hyjek
TeachingHorse partner and ranch manager.
Beth is responsible for the day-to-day operations
of the TeachingHorse facility. She also handles all aspects
of customer relations, marketing and event management.
Beth holds an MFA from St. Mary’s College
of California and BFA from New York University, Tisch School
of the Arts. She is a writer/photographer who is constantly
amazed by the images and stories that horses share with her
and the people who participate in the workshops.
Maggie McGlynn, McGlynn Associates
Associate facilitator.
Maggie is the owner of McGlynn Associates, Inc. a consulting firm serving nonprofit, public sector and corporate groups. Maggie is trained in Appreciative Inquiry, Asset Based Community Development and the Art of Change. Elizabeth Trinkaus, Pinnacle View and Mighty Isis Club
Associate facilitator.
Elizabeth is the owner and founder of Pinnacle View, a unique Life Enrichment Coaching Company. She has been consulting with individuals and corporations for over 15 years in a perpetual quest to promote harmony of thought and vision.

Laura has been the minister at All God’s
Children United Methodist Church in Aulander, NC since 1997
and is the visionary behind the Place of Possibilities. The
Place of Possibilities is an innovative approach to community
outreach and spiritual development for people from all walks
of life. SpiritHorse is a core offering at the Place of Possibilities.
